How it started

Having been established in 2022, during the the regional workshop Empowering and Connecting Environmental Youth Activists in ECIS Region, the network has been represented and advocated for at a multitude of valuable regional conferences and workshops such as the 2024 NDC 3.0 Regional Forum. The Youth Network strives to represent and amplify the voice of the youth in Europe and Central Asia, and represent their interests on a local, national and regional scale. The network has had the opportunity to interact and build on policy alongside their government representatives in sectors such as climate, energy, and environment, and the chance to provide a youth perspective to their respective governments and officials when considering solutions to these contextualized issues.  

With support from the UNDP Istanbul Regional Hub, the youth network sets out to enhance  and embolden their peers and communities with tools to build a sustainable and improved life. Generation Nexus aspires to empower and engage its peers in decision making processes and policies often left out of reach of the youth, and has had the opportunity to develop resolutions and plans to combat the issues faced by youth on national and regional levels. Through their participation in diverse engagement processes, the network moves to define supporting strategies and refine youth policy development as one of the most comprehensive and valuable policies.
